Accra, Ghana – January 14, 2026 – The Ghana Export–Import Bank (GEXIM) has officially launched activities marking its 10th anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to export-led industrialization, value addition, and sustainable economic growth.
The press launch, held at the GEXIM Head Office Auditorium in Accra, brought together members of the media, management, and key stakeholders to outline the significance of the milestone and preview a year-long programme of commemorative activities under the banner GEXIM@10.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive GEXIM, Hon. Sylvester Adinam Mensah, described the anniversary as both a moment of reflection and a strategic reset for the Bank.
“Ten years ago, GEXIM was established with a clear mandate to help Ghana move from exporting primarily raw materials to exporting more value-added products, building competitive industries, and creating sustainable jobs,” he said.
Hon. Sylvester Adinam Mensah announced that GEXIM@10 will be commemorated through several flagship activities, including an Agricultural, Agro-processing and Industrial Technology Fair (AGROTECH Fair 2026) to showcase locally manufactured agricultural machinery and processing technologies, Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, and an International Conference to highlight the Bank’s contribution to Ghana’s economic development.

Reflecting on the Bank’s journey, the CEO emphasized that export growth requires a strong and coordinated system one that combines patient capital, risk mitigation, market intelligence, and institutional collaboration across the value chain. Over the past decade, he noted, GEXIM has supported enterprises to expand production, improve quality, access new markets, and contribute meaningfully to export diversification and industrial development.
A key highlight of the anniversary calendar is the 10th Anniversary International Conference of GEXIM, scheduled for 25–26 March 2026 at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Accra, under the theme:
“A Decade of Enabling Export Trade and Industrial Transformation: Resetting GEXIM for the Next Frontier.”
The conference will serve as a high-level platform to assess global trends in export finance, explore blended finance solutions, strengthen MSME access to export finance, showcase GEXIM-funded businesses, and generate actionable recommendations to guide the Bank’s medium- to long-term strategy.
Delivering brief remarks at the launch, Dr. Joseph Nyarkotei Dorh, Board Chairman of GEXIM described the tenth anniversary as a moment of responsibility, not just celebration.
“This institution has become a strategic enabler supporting industry, strengthening value chains, and positioning Ghana to participate more effectively in regional and global trade,” he said, attributing the Bank’s progress to strong partnerships among Government, Management and staff, the private sector, and development partners.

He stressed that the upcoming GEXIM@10 International Conference would be an open and action-oriented engagement, bringing together EXIM Banks, Export Credit Agencies, Development Finance Institutions, Government Ministries, commercial banks, diplomatic missions, and GEXIM-supported enterprises.
According to the Board Chairman, Ghana’s next phase of development will be driven by the country’s ability to add value to its production base, build resilient industries, and compete globally.
“Export finance is not merely about funding transactions; it is about enabling transformation,” he stated.
Both speakers underscored the importance of 2026 as a pivotal year for GEXIM, marking the commencement of the implementation phase of the Bank’s five-year strategic plan (2025–2030).

The launch concluded with a call to the media and stakeholders to support the national export agenda by amplifying Ghana’s industrialization story and promoting made-in-Ghana goods.
