The Chief Executive of the Ghana Export-Import Bank (Ghana Exim Bank), Sylvester Mensah, has described the Northshore Apparel Hub as proof that wholly Ghanaian-owned businesses can undertake large-scale industrial projects capable of competing on the global stage.
Speaking at the opening of the Northshore Apparel Hub on Friday, August 28, 2026, Mr Mensah said the facility demonstrates what Ghana can achieve when local capital is channelled into productive local enterprises.
According to him, Northshore Apparel is positioned to expand the reach of Ghana-made clothing beyond the domestic market, leveraging trade opportunities under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and other international trade arrangements.
“This is more than a factory. It is a powerful statement of what Ghana can achieve when local capital is invested in local enterprise,” he said.
Mr Mensah further highlighted Ghana Exim Bank’s renewed approach to financing businesses, saying the bank has reset and redefined its lending scope in line with the government’s vision for industrial growth under the 24-Hour Economy initiative.
“We are proud to have supported them, and we are encouraged by what we see,” he added
The Northshore Apparel forms part of efforts to expand Ghana’s manufacturing and export capacity, with the facility expected to contribute to the production and export of Ghana-made apparel while creating opportunities within the local economy.
