Honorable Abena Osei-Asare is currently the Deputy Finance Minister in Charge of Revenue of the Republic of Ghana. She is currently serving her second term as Deputy Finance Minister formerly in Charge of Budget between 2017 and 2020. Hon. Abena Osei-Asare is also currently serving her third Term as Member of Parliament (MP) for Atiwa East Constituency of Ghana having served the People of Atiwa East since the year 2013.

Hon. Abena Osei-Asare is a chartered Accountant by Profession and also comes along with vast occupational experience from the Banking and Finance areas, especially whiles working with Barclays Bank Ghana and the New York University prior to her Public Service Duties.

Hon. Abena Osei-Asare has also served on Several Public Board and Committees in the past and is currently also serving on Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation GAIDEC, Agriculture Development Bank (ADB) and Exim Bank Ghana. Hon. Abena is currently also a member of the Economic committee of cabinet and the Chairman of the Ghana.gov Implementation Steering committee.

She has also served on some Parliamentary committees in Ghana’s Parliament, committee such as Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprises Committee and Public Accounts Committee (PAC)- 2013-2017. Hon. Is also currently a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA) and The Financial Markets Association (ACI).

Hon. Abena has also been a strong force in the Labour front especially in the area of labour negotiations and conflict resolutions, she has spent over 4 years leading in several National labour negotiations and conflict resolution on behalf of the Minister of Finance during her time in public service.

She has also participated in several national, regional and Global events/engagements over the years both in her private capacity and public capacities over the years giving here vast exposure in various global fields. She is also currently Ghana’s permanent Ministerial Representative on climate Change Financing.

Hon. Osei-Asare is an alumni of the University of Ghana having completed both her First and Second Degree with the University in the area of Development Finance, Economics and Geography. She is also an Old Girl of Wesley Girls High School and the Achimota Primary School.

Hon Abena Osei-Asare is a Native of Anyinam in the Atiwa East Constituency of the Eastern Region of Ghana. She is a Presbyterian and a family Woman married with 3 Beautiful Children.

She is very passionate about Ghana’s development and the reason for her choice to get into Public Service. She is a strong advocate for human welfare, Improving systems and processes to facilitate productivity and maximization of opportunities.
